A Sustainable Joinery
MAETZLER Sustainability Concept
At MAETZLER, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. For us, sustainability is not just a much-used buzzword to demonstrate a commitment to the environment. Sustainability is actively lived and developed in all of our business areas. We are a sustainable joinery! Our sustainability strategy is based on the ESG approach. Sustainability is viewed as a holistic concept in the areas of environment, social responsibility and governance. For us, sustainability is not only about the environment, but also about how we treat our employees, society and all our stakeholders. In our joinery, we implement sustainability in the different ESG areas as follows:

Environmental Responsibility
Wood as a material is generally very sustainable and helps us as a eco-friendly joinery to keep our environmental impact low. Nevertheless, as a responsible company, we have a duty to review our activities and minimise our impact on the planet. Our current measures to improve our eco-balance can be summarised under the following points:
Resources
- Use of wood from sustainable sources
- Responsible use of materials
- Use regional suppliers
Products
- Produce long lasting quality products
- Use lots of solid wood and real veneer
- Produce according to environmental standards whenever possible (C2C, FSC, etc.)
Production
- Our joinery products are all self-made in our own factory
- Use sustainable production processes
- Careful recycling and waste disposal
Infrastructure
- Heating system using wood waste
- All our electricity used is made from hydropower
- New LED lighting system from 2023
- Ongoing project to install photovoltaic system on company roof
Social Responsibility
As a business, we play an important role in society. Our daily activities have an impact on many people. We are aware of the great social responsibility we have towards our employees and our community. That is why we have set ourselves some important social goals, which we review regularly.
Goals of MAETZLER social responsibility:

Sustainability in Joinery Consulting
Are you working on a interiors project and are not sure how your sustainability goals can be fulfilled by your joinery products? Thanks to our many years of experience in the construction and production of furniture and interior fittings, we know exactly how to achieve more sustainability in your interior design. We would be happy to help you make your interior finishing even more environmentally friendly and reduce the carbon footprint of your project. We find the Cradle to Cradle® philosophy, according to Braungart and McDonough, particularly interesting. According to this approach, products should be designed in such a way that their life cycle can be extended, and resources can be kept in circulation. Cradle to Cradle® is also an interesting topic for our joinery, which we are working with. We see a lot of potential in Cradle to Cradle® furniture. We would be happy to help you realise your interior design project according to the Cradle to Cradle® principle. Please contact us for a non-binding consultation.
