Fire Protection Glazing for Goldbach Primary School
For the new construction of the Goldbach primary school building in Küssnacht, MAETZLER was tasked to produce all the fire-resistant interior glazing. The interior glazing meets the fire protection regulations according to EI60 and looks stunning. The floor-to-ceiling glazing provides the school building with a lot of light and thus ensures a very pleasant learning atmosphere. In many of the large glazed areas, single or double-leaf fire doors made of glass are installed, which meet the EI30 fire protection standard. The solid door and window frames are made of solid oak wood and have a natural varnish added to preserve the natural colour of the solid wood. The frames are 80 mm thick.
The project proves how high-end design and fire protection can be combined with lots of wood and glass. These sophisticated fire protection constructions give the architecture a lot of design freedom despite strict fire protection regulations.
